Son of William McReady Vickers and Agnes Pattison Vickers nee Grant of Shepparton, Victoria.
Brother of Ernest John Vickers who returned to Australia on 29 August 1919 having served with the Australian Corps Signal Compary and Stanley James Vickers who returned to Australia on 5 September 1919 having served with the 23rd Battalion
Husband of Alice May Vickers of Learmonth Street, Moonee Ponds, Victoria. William and Alice married during 1910c in Albury, NSW. During his time overseas William was involved with another lady with whom he had children and put in a request for them all to come to Australia.
Commenced return to Australia on 21 January 1920 aboard HT Friedrichsruh disembarking on 9 March 1920 in Melbourne due to the advice from solictors of his wife.
