Leslie John ABBERTON was born in Goulburn, New South Wales in 1898
His parents were Thomas Joseph ABBERTON & Louisa Mary Ann NICOLLS who married in the Roman Catholic church in Mummel, NSW on 1st January 1890
His brother Matthew ABBERTON (SN 2906) served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1919
Another brother Sidney ABBERTON (SN 477) also served in WW1 and returned to Australia in 1918
His step brother Thomas Joseph ABBERTON (SN NX28567) who was born to his Fathers 2nd wife after his mother Louisa died in 1903, served in WW2 and died of illness in New Guinea in 1944
