CYRIL BOYD FENTON, son of Mr. George A. and Mrs. Katie M. Fenton, was born at Terang, Victoria, on 11th April, 1897. He was educated at St. Patrick’s College, Ballarat, and entered the service of the Bank in that city on 9th August, 1914.
He enlisted in August, 1915, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and attached to the Royal Flying Corps. In this service he met with a serious accident involving a fall of 100 feet, and remained in hospital for seven months. Thereafter he resumed duty, but was made prisoner in March, 1918, and arrived back in England in December of the same year, one month after the signing of the Armistice.
