He was 34 and the second son of Edmund Theophilus Baker and Emily Rose Baker; husband of Maria Annette Baker of 6 Dundas Terrace, Dryden St., Nottingham.

The inscription on his wargrave at QUERRIEU BRITISH CEMETERY    [Grave Reference:C. 5.]reads:

HE CARRIED HIS LIFE IN HIS HANDS THE GRACE OF GOD IN HIS HEART
