Joseph Patrick Boyle aged 37 when he enlisted, son of Terence Boyle and Ellenor Pass Badger. Joseph was working in Terrors Creek as a labourer and was a cousin of the Cruice family, a well-known pioneer family from Dayboro. He was killed in action in Ypres, West Flanders Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial. Joseph died aged 38.
