"NEWBY, Joseph. Driver, No. 53308, 1st Bde. Field Artillery. Born and educated at Charters Towers. Enlisted at the age of 19 years from Charters Towers February, 1918. Sailed from Sydney 8th May, 1918,, to England, went to Heytesbury Camp to complete training.
