Son of William and Mary BUDGE, 3 Trevor Street, Ballarat East, Victoria
Private BUGDE.--Mrs. Budge, of 3 Trevor street, Ballarat East, has received information from the Defence Department (through Canon Davis) that her son. Private William Budge, (previously reported missing on April 11th) was killed in action on that date. Private Budge enlisted in February, 1916, and sailed on 1st April with reinforcements for the 8th Battalion. After finishing training in England he was transferred to the 46th Battalion, and saw about eight months service in France, finally taking part in the Australian's attack on Riencourt, near Bullecourt, on 11th April, in which action he is now reported to have been killed.
