Remembering a Sapper
My grandfather enlisted alongside his brother to join the AIF but was hospitalised with appendicitis and did not join Patrick on board The Star of Victoria .
Patrick went on to serve in France as a sapper, due to injuries he suffered he passed away in 1945 never married and no direct descendants.
Due to my fathers lack of interest in Patrick I have, over the years, dug up info on his military career and continue to this day.
I have digitised copies of his records and am trying to piece together his life
