Leonard Acason was born in Renmark, South Australia on the 21st of January 1897. He died in action in France on the 24th of April 1918 aged 21. Leonard was buried in Meteren Military Cemetery (identified as 10th Bn 6475, plot 5, row B, grave 587). Leonard Acason lived 32 years shorter than the average age of death from the rest of his family members. 

He was raised by his mother and Father in Renmark Paringa. Leonard’s height was 6’11’5 and his weight 166 lbs. The school that Leonard went to was the Renmark Public School. Leonard’s first job was as a shop assistant in Renmark. He enlisted on the 25th of July 1916 in the AIF Adelaide at age 19.

Leonard’s was Private, 6475, 10th Infantry Battalion. Leonard Acason embarked on the 23rd of October 1916 on HMAT Port Melbourne from Adelaide. The medals that he earned are the British War medal and Victory medal. Leonard Acason is number 58 on the roll of honour Australian War Memorial.
