Son of Christopher Cooper and Louisa Cooper nee Freeman of Wills Street, Largs Bay, SA. Brother of Joseph Henry Cooper who returned to Australia on 27 JUne 1919 having served with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment
Commenced return to Australia on 1 April 1919 aboard HT Shropshire as invalid disembarking on 14 May 1919
Husband of Violet Evelyn Cooper nee Habner of SA. On 17 February 1921 Hubert and Violet marrien in the Yeelanna Methodist Church, SA
