Herbert Clemdon BLYTON was born on 15th July, 1894 in Cooma, New South Wales
His parents were Henry BLYTON & Eliza GLANVILLE who married in Cooma on 3rd June 1879
He enlisted in Dubbo on 8th January 1916 and embarked with the 54th Infantry Battalion, 2nd reinforcements from Sydney on the HMAT Ceramic on 14th April, 1916
Herbert was Killed in Action at Bullecourt, France on 15th May, 1917 - no known grave
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial , the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial & the Hill End War Memorial NSW

His brother Bertrude Leopold BLYTON (SN 1618) who was also with the 54th Infantry battalion died on the same day as Herbert
