Husband of Mary Winifred Pendergast nee Ryan of Fotheringham Street, Marrickville, NSW. James and Mary were married in the Newtown area, NSW during 1908. Father of Mary Pendergast and Neta Pendergast
Commenced return to Australia on 6 Sseptember 1919 aboad HT Berrima disembarking on 8 November 1919
In September 1933 he was residing in Enmore, NSW but moved to Newtown in 1934
