Ernest James

Ernest James Green was born at Erith {Balaklava} on the 2nd April 1886.
Green enlisted in Adelaide on the 16th September 1915 aged 29 and listed his father, Richard Green of Forest Range as his next of kin.
Green went to France on the 6th January, transferring to the 7th Field
Artillery Brigade. On the 31st May 1917 he was accidentally kicked in the head by a horse and spent two weeks in hospital prior to rejoining his brigade on the 14th June 1917. Green continued serving in France for the duration of the war and was discharged on the 10th August 1919. Upon returning home, Ernest Green purchased a property in Woodside which he worked until his death in 1941
