Arthur Charles Niquet OLDEN was born in Ballarat, Victoria on 3rd July, 1881
His parents were Olaf Samuel OLDEN & Sophia Louisa NIQUET
He married Doris Ruth PADBURY in St Matthews Anglican Church in Guildford, Western Australia on 20th September, 1922 - four children, Helene Evelyn, Ruth Padbury, Arthur Alan & John Albany
He enlisted in the Western Australian Mounted Infantry as 2nd Lieutenant & served for 2 years 2 months with the 25th Light Horse Regiment as 2nd Lieutenant (he was appointed Lieutenant on 16th January, 1913 and re-enlisted to serve during WW1 on 28th October, 1914 with the 10th Light Horse Regiment, C Squadron who embarked from Fremantle, WA on the Transport ship Surada on 17th February, 1915 - he returned to Australia in 1920 & was discharged on 5th April, 1920
He enlisted again to serve during WW2 (SN W141) on 29th April, 1942 with the Australian Army Medical Corp and was discharged on 25th May, 1943 - last Unit - Head Quarters W/C Medical Services
Arthur died in the Hollywood Repatriation Hospital in Perth, Western Australia on 5th October, 1949 of Vascular Disease - he was cremated at Karrakatta Cemetery, WA and his ashes were scattered at sea
He was awarded the DSO on 27th October, 1918 and was Mentioned in Dispatches

His daughter Helene Evelyn Niquet OLDEN (SN103462) served during WW2 in the RAAF and was discharged on 6th November, 1945
