Son of John and Louisa Bayles of Battersea, England.
Next of kin given as a brother George Bayles of 6 Watery Lane, Melton Park, London, England. George was later awarded the Military Medal while serving with the Royal Engineers 511th Field Company and who died on 21 September 1917. George is buried in the Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium, Plot V, Row D, Grave 22
