Son of Richard Venn-Brown and Esther Venn-Brown nee Jacobson of Northwood Road, Longueville, NSW.
Brother of Colin Forbes Venn-Brown who returned to Australia on 5 July 1919 having served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade; Bruce Venn Brown who returned to Australia on 2 February 1920 having served with the 7th Field Artillery Brigade.
