"KILLED BY TRAIN. MISTAKE LEADS TO A FATALITY.
"About seven o'clock on Sunday evening, Herbert James Swift, of Price street, Edwardstown, was so severely injured at Albert Park through falling under the wheels of the Henley Beach train that he died before he reached the Adelaide Hospital. His legs were almost severed, and his face was terribly injured. F.C. Daly, of Woodville, in an official report, states that the stationmaster, Mr. Matthias, called in Dr. Dunstan, who ordered removal to the Adelaide Hospital, where Dr. Hone pronounced life to be extinct. The injured man was able to say that he alighted at Albert Park, thinking it was Seaton Park, and finding he had made a mistake, ran to re-catch the train. He slipped and fell under the wheels of one of the carriages. The possessions of the deceased included a Bible, indicating that, the unfortunate man was on his way to church. The body was removed to the morgue. The coroner has been informed." - from the Adelaide Daily Herald 28 Feb 1921 (nla.gov.au)
