MR J. A. JONSSON
Mr John Alfred Jonsson passed away suddenly on Tuesday night,
February 2, whilst watching his daughter swim in a race at the Footscray Baths. The late Mr Jonsson, who was born at Footscray 46 years age, is survived by a widow and the, one daughter. The deceased was a well-known sport, and had served abroad in the A.I.F. He was a great oarsman and had rowed in the Victorian eight, and was in the winning champion pair of Victoria, and had won many other races. He was also for a period secretary of the Footscray Second Eighteen Football Club. The funeral took place from 114 
Johnstone street, Newport, to the Williamstown Cemetery, and was
largely attended. The pall was supported by Messrs J. Thistlewaite, R. McCormack, C. McPherson, C. Monier, C. Grunden, S. Grunden, B. Davies, G. H. Dolphin, E. L. Clark, W. Hosking, B. Bick and others. There was a large collection of magnificent floral tributes. Rev. G. A. Cerutty was the officiating clergyman, while the Masonic service was conducted by E. L. Clark and Wor. Bro. W. Hosking. The soldiers' service was conducted by, Mr B. L Davies and Mr G. H. Dolphin. Nelson Bros. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
