William Ball.
William Ball, a farmer from Coalstoun Lakes, near Biggenden Qld, joined the AIF on 8 October 1915.He was described on enlistment as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 10 stone and as having blue eyes and brown hair. Ten days after he enlisted he married Alison Maude Horne, also from Coalstoun Lakes.
He served in France and was wounded several times. In August 1918, having suffered a compound fracture of the skull and losing an eye, he returned to Australia, arriving in October and being discharged on 30 November 1918.
He and Alison had 3 children, John, Nessie and Ann and lived at 24 Anzac Avenue Maroochydore after they left Coalstoun Lakes.
