Frederick William Craig served in the South African (Boer) War and in WW1. He first served as a Private S.N. 139 in the 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry (Boer War) and he served a second time as Hon. Lieutenant (promoted to Hon Major) in the 15th Battalion AIF during which he was awarded the DSO. (sources National Archives Australia, Boer War Dossier and WW1 Service Records).
