Born 23 September 1894 in Currency Creek, South Australia.

Father David Allen and Mother Emily Jane Allen (nee Strachan).

19/6/1920 mother advised AIF, father David Allen died in 1900.
Mother later remarried - Mrs Emily Jane Burzacott and step father John Henry Burzacott
lived at Goolwa, South Australia
later relocated to Finniss, SA

Described on enlisting as 20 years 5 months old; single; 5' 7 1/2" tall; 148 lbs;
fair complexion; grey eyes; brown hair; Methodist.

9/2/1915 completed medical - fit for service

10/2/1915 Enlisted at Keswick, South Australia

1/4/1915 Commanding Officer appointed David to 10th Infantry Battalion
Mitcham Camp

23/6/1915 Embarked from Outer Harbour, Port Adelaide on board HMAT A30 Borda
as a Private in the 10th Infantry Battalion, 6th reinforcements

4/8/1915 taken on strengh from 6th reinforcements, Gallipoli

25/8/1915 sick with diarrhoea to hospital - Gallipoli
admitted to Australian Casualty Clearing Station, Anzac
