Biography
Carl William was the son Nilius & Euphemia Leyon. Nilius came to Australia from Sweden he died when Carl William was six years old.
Euphemia raised her five children alone. Carl William had 2 brothters and two sisters.
Carl William was a carpenter iat Heatherlea Lockhart NSW when the war broke out and he joined the 4th Infantry Battalion. His brother Johan Edward was listed as his next of kin as Euphemia had died in 1907.
He embarked 22 Dec 1914 and went to Suez before being sent to Gallipoli.
His personal effects were returned to AIF Base Records Melbourne 1920, awaiting collection.
