Raymond was the third of eight children of Thomas Henry Wright (b1857 at Westbrook Farm in Busselton, WA) and Hannah Sarah Stinton (b1855 in Coolup, WA). Thomas (a Farmer) and Hannah married in 1881 in Picton Junction, WA. They settled at Blackwood River in Balingup WA where Thomas was a Farmer.
Raymond was a Farmer on Rokewood Farm in Balingup, WA and by 1915 was a Storekeeper on the farm He enlisted in the AIF in August 1915 (Private; Service No:4028) and served with the 16th and 48th Infantry Battalions. Raymond was KiA at Pozieres in August 1916 when the trench he was in was Shelled.
