Distinguished Conduct Medal Citation
During the attack on Kochamika and Sludka, 10 August, 1919, he showed great gallantry and skill in ascertaining the enemy's positions, and, under heavy fire, came back with reliable information, enabling his platoon to advance without casualties. He materially contributed to the success of a difficult operation.
