4 January 1915 - enlsited at Roma, QLD with the Australian Mounted Divisional Train and the rank of Private
29 March 1916 - promoted to Company Quarter Master Sergeant
13 September 1916 - transferred to the 1st Light Horse Training Regiment
8 April 1917 - transferred to the Army Pay Corps
20 September 1917 - promoted to 2nd Lieutenant
4 February 1918 - promoted to Lieutenant
