THE LATE PRIVATE E. J. BURGESS.

Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Burgess, of North Bundaleer, Jamestown, have been notified of the death of their son, Private Edgar John Burgess, of wounds in France on November 10. He enlisted on March 15 and sailed for Egypt on April 11. From there he went to France in June last, and after seven months of service gave his life for King and Empire in the cause of right. The greater part of his life was spent at Nanlawarra, until about three years ago, when the family removed to Jamestown. He was much liked and highly respected in both districts, where his loss is mourned by a wide circle of friends. Private Burgess was 22 years and 5 months old at the time of his death." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 06 Jan 1917
