Son of David and Mary Jane Compton of 'Wattle Bank' Mount Richmond via Portland, Victoria
8 July 1919 - Base Records wrote to Mary saying that James belongings were lost when the ship Baarunga' which was returning them to Australia was sunk by enemy action.
