Charles Sidney GLASBOROW was born on 13th August, 1893
His parents were Charles Arthur GLASSBOROW & Florence Jane ALDERTON who married in England in 1887 (registered in Hackney) His Mother Florence died in England in 1899 and his Father Charles remarried to a Clara WILKINSON in 1900
He came to Australia aged 19 years & enlisted in Perth, Western Australia on 24th March, 1916 & embarked from Fremantle WA with the 44th Infantry Battalion, B Company on the HMAT Suevic on 6th June, 1916
He was transferred to the 11th Light Trench Mortar Battery on 25th August, 1916 and promoted to Corporal on 20th February, 1917
Charles was Killed in Action at Armentieres in France on 14th March, 1917 and is buried in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery
Inscription reads:
