Alexander Thomas ABASSIE was born on 21st July 1896 in Ballarat, Victoria
His parents were Elias ABASSIE and Sarah Jane WALLACE - his Mother Sarah remarried in 1914 to William James NOBLE
He enlisetd on 14th July 1915 with the Australian Army - 6th Battalion, 11th reinforcements - Unit left Melbourne on HMAT Nestor on 11th October 1915
Alexander died of wounds in Poziers, Somme, France on 23rd July 1916 and is buried in Warloy Ballon Communal cemetery Extension, France - He is also listed on the Dixons Creek Honour Roll.
