Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Hugh's younger brother, 5871 Pte. James Roberts 18th Battalion AIF, was killed in action at Bullecourt 3 May 1917, aged 21.

They were the sons of William Roberts, of Glenorie, New South Wales, and the late Sarah Jane Roberts, their mother having passed away during 1904 when they were young boys.
