Edward was the son of William Hitchins VERRAN and Mary Elizabeth COOPER and was born on 19th October 1883 at Angle Grove, South Australia [ref Book 314 / Page 433]
He married Elsie Amelia Caroline CARRUTHERS on 04th July 1927 at the Methodist Church, Yacka, South Australia [ref Book 312 / Page 53]

VERRAN–CARRUTHERS.–On the 4th July, at the Yacka Methodist Church of England, by the Rev. J. Statton, Elsie Amelia, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Carruthers, of Brinkworth, to Edward John, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Verran, of Brunswick.
Edward died on 21st January 1937 at Blyth, South Australia and was buried at the Brinkworth Cemetery, age 53 years [ref Book 587 / Page 432]
