Word has been received by Mrs. Brown, No. 12 Davis Street, Boulder, of the death by wounds in France of her son. Private W.T. ('Tracker') Brown. Deceased was a well-known and esteemed goldfielder of long residence, having first arrived in Boulder in 1896. He carried on business as a tobacconist in Hamilton Street prior to enlisting in February 1916. He was 39 years of age, and had long been connected with the Boulder City Football Club, both as a playing member and a secretary. He leaves a widow and three children, who reside in Perth. One brother, G.A. Brown, lives at 198 Burt Street, Boulder. One sister is living at Fremantle and another at Minievale. Writing home in a letter which arrived last week, the deceased soldier mentioned that he was under orders to leave for Australia on account of deafness caused by shell shock."
