Logan Village Museum
Thomas was born in 1890 at Hagley, Tasmania and died on the 24th of April 1961. He is remembered at the Mt Thompson Memorial Gardens in Brisbane. The son of John and Ann (nee Emms). He married Lilly Gordon.
Thomas is listed on the Logan Village Honour Roll WW1. He was working in the area before he enlisted. He is also listed amongst the Museum Honour Roll for the area.

"...2843 Private Thomas Henry Gorringe. A railway official from Nambour, Queensland prior to enlistment, Pte Gorringe embarked with the 6th Reinforcements, 57th Battalion from Melbourne on HMAT Nestor on 2 October 1916. Following his graduation from signals school, he joined the 1st Divisional Signal Company and was gassed and evacuated to England. Following his recovery he rejoined his unit as was gassed once more. Due to the severity of the gas poisoning, he returned to Australia on 19 October 1918 and was medically discharged..." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
