BUMBERRY.
Sincere grief was expressed by our little community when it became known on Friday Iast that Barwon Staggs had died while en route to the front, the sad event occurring at Sierra Leone, The deceased, who was the eldest Son of Mr and Mrs J. Staggs, of the Corner Farm, Bumberry, enlisted a few months ago, and only recently sailed from Sydney. He had grown up to manhood in this locality, and was highly esteemed. His kindly disposition and unassuming manner made him a favourite with all whom he came in contact with. He was also a member of the Bumberry Rifle Club. Deep and sincere sympathy is expressed with the parents and family in the irretrievable loss.
