Sidney Francis Barrett served in WW1, enlisting at the age of 52 years - end of 1915, Ballarat, Victoria Australia.

His only son was killed on Gallipoli in 1915.

His demise at the age of 74 was principally brought about due to the hardships of the Winter Campaining in France.
