Cyril Hastings VERLEY was born on 20th October, 1882 at Dunreath Castle, Kingston, Jamaica, British West Indies
His parents were James Louis Kingston VERLEY & Sarah Henriques STINES
He married Mary Radclyffe ORDONNEAU in the Registry Office, Kensington, UK 1901 - one known daughter Thelma Louise VERLEY who was born in England in 1904 - Cyril & Mary subsequently divorced
He enlisted in Perth, WA on 2nd March, 1917 and embarked with the 11th Infantry Battalion, 25th Reinforcements from Fremantle, WA on the HMAT Borda on 29th June 1917
Cyril was Killed in Action in France on 10th August, 1918 - no known grave - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Villers Bretonneux Memorial
