Son of Henry Phillip Oakenfull and Charlotte Oakenfull nee Ellis of Mooroopna, Victoria.
Brother of Ernest Oakenfull who returned to Australia on 25 April 1919 having served with the 12th Field Artillery Brigade ; William Henry Oakenfull who returned to Australia on 27 December 1918 having served with the 2nd Pioneer Battallion.
Husband of Daisy Oakenfull nee Jones of Fulton Street, Armadale, Victoria. George and Daisy married during 1910c in Victoria
