On 3 September 1913 Stanley married Ruby Amelia Roediger in Stokes Church, SA. Father of Thora Bottrill and Clair Bottrill. Ruby died on 12 December 1915
At the time of his death Stanley was residing in Unley, SA
Commenced return to Australia on 24 December 1919 aboard HT Konigin Luise disembarking in Adelaide on 2 February 1920
