"...1028, Private Reginald David Friend was born at Bagots Well, South Australia, on 14 June 1896. He enlisted at Keswick, South Australia, on 22 March 1915 and served with the 27th Infantry Battalion. In November 1916 he was taken on strength of the 2nd Australian Machine Gun Company.
