17 Jun 1919: | Honoured Military Medal, On the 3rd October 1918, in the attack on the Beaurevoir System, near the village of Beaurevoir East of Peronne, it was necessary to withdraw to a position which was exposed to machine gun fire. Lance Corporal Adams volunteered to deliver a despatch of great importance explaining our position to Headquarters. Although under heavy machine gun fire both going and returning, he successfully delivered the message and returned with instructions. Enlisted for WW1 underalias of Geroge Harold Adams.
On 25 February 1920 he signed a Statutory Declaration form stating that he had served during WW1 under the false name of George Harold Adams and that in fact his true name was Gershom Samuel Abramovitch and that he was almost three years younger than stated on the Attestation Paper
