Tim was the eldest of four children of John Samuel White (born 1863 in Perth, WA) and first wife Frances Mary Browning (born 1864 in Essex, England).  John was a Civil Servant when he married Frances in 1889 in Perth, WA, and they lived in Perth, Bunbury and Narrogin where John was a Civil Servant (Westralian Farmers). He was a Farmer at Quairading in WA when Tim enlisted in the AIF.

Tim was a Farmer at Northam, WA when he enlisted in the AIF in December 1915. He served as a Private (Service No:4941) with 16th, 51st and 48th Infantry Battalions and as a Lance Corporal attached to HQ 3rd Training Brigade in 1917/1918. Tim was WiA in France on two occasions - suffering a GSW to his back in July 1918. Tim was Discharged in April 1919. Brother-in-Law Charles Edward Parkin (Private, Service No:9493) also served in WWI.

In November 1919 Tim had returned to Yoting near York in WA and was a Farmer when he married Beatrice (Bea) Louisa Parkin (born 1912 in Melbourne, Victoria) in South Perth, WA. Bea was a Lady's Help.

Tim and Bea lived in Yoting near York, WA where Tim was a Farmer until his Death in 1957. Bea died in 1968.
