"THROWN FROM CAR. After Being Robbed, Armidale, Wednesday.
The allegation that he had been robbed and thrown from a motor car was made by Isaac Cundy, laborer who staggered into the residence of Mrs .Grace Campbell, with blood streaming from his head. He was taken for a run in a red motor car by a man he met at the races. When about two miles from Armidale, on the Glen Innes - road, he was attacked and robbed of 58 pounds and then thrown onto the roadway. There was a contused wound on the top of Cundy's head, and also several large lumps. Cundy said that he was struck with some heavy weapon. After rendering first aid, the ambulance took him to the Armidale District Hospital, where he was admitted." - from the Sydney Morning Herald 17 Apr 1930
"Brutal Assault, Man's Heavy Sentence.
James Roland Hunter was sentenced by Judge Mocatta, at the Armidale Quater Sessions, to three years imprisonment for having assaulted and robbed Isaac Cundy at Armidale on April 18. The Judge said that the assault was the action of a cowardly, brutal ruffian and reminded one of the days of the bush rangers, except that the accused has used a motor car instead of a horse to get away." - from the Sydney Morning Herald 19 May 1930
