Son of Carl Frederick Vieritz and Carolina Wilhelmine Fredericka Vieritz nee Gorkow of Caboolture, QLD.

Brother of Emil Vieritz who returned to Australia on 4 March 1918 having served with the 9th Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 8 January 1919 aboard HT Orsova disembarking on 20 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 3 March 1920 Gustav married Jessie Miller Coghill in QLD
