NEWS ARTICLE: MAN QUESTIONED BY DETECTIVES SEQUEL TO A TOOWONG RESIDENT’S DEATH

Believed to be the victim of a hit and run motorist; Edwin Arnold (41); of Croydon St, Toowong. Who was found in an unconscious condition lying on the roadway at (Normanby Hotel, Kelvin Grove Rd – Kelvin Grove, Qld), last night died in the General Hospital early this morning.
Following investigations detectives today took a man into the C.I. Branch for interrogation in regard to the matter.
ABOUT 10pm, Edwin Arnold was found lying on Kelvin Grove Rd – near the “Normanby Hotel”. He, Edwin Arnold was found unconscious, and the persons who found him summoned ambulance assistance. After treatment Edwin Arnold was taken to the General Hospital, where he received attention for a contusion over the left eye, fractured ribs, and other Injuries. He was admitted to Ward 2a, where he died shortly after midnight.
Following Arnold's death, detectives kept up with the investigations of this (“hit & run”, critical incident). During the next morning took a man into the C.I. Branch, where he is being questioned in connection with this matter.

NEWS ARTICLE: DIED IN HOSPITAL - Unlawful Killing Charge
AT a special court presided over by Mr. A. P. W. Tregear yesterday afternoon; Walter Frederick Miller, 24, plumber, was charged with having on July 5th, at Brisbane, unlawfully killed Edwin Arnold.
Senior-sergeant Percy Mullally, who prosecuted, asked for a remand until July 13th, and intimated that he would not oppose bail.
Miller was remanded to the date named, and allowed bail, self in £1C0, with one surety of £100.
Arnold was found on the road near the Normanby on Friday night. After it is alleged, he being struck by a motor car. He died in hospital some hours after his admission.
