Originally interred in Eaton Hall Cemetery by Reverend George Cranston, 20 July 1916 but later removed to Rue-Petillon, Fleurbaix near Fromelles.
Forty nine identified Australians who died on 19th July, and 62 who died on 20th July 1916, all at Fromelles, are buried in Rue-Petillon.
He was killed instantly by a shell.
He was 21 and the son of Thomas James and Eliza Cheshire, of 35, Highfield Rd., Canterbury, Victoria, Australia.
