Add my storyBiography contributed by Faithe Jones
Lionel St Clare Cornish was a seaman before he joined the A.I.F. in 1915 serving with the 7th Infantry Battalion, A.I.F. with some secondments to the Australian Provost Corps. With the 7 Btn. he distinguished himself in the face of an attack by superior enemy forces and was awarded the Military Medal.
After WW1 he joined the Royal Australian Garrison Artillery for some years as a gunner with N.C.O. rank.
He rejoined the ACMF and had various duties with 5 Docks and was sent to Port Hedland, W.A. to No.4 Australian Movement Control Group where he suddenly passed away after quite a long period of ill health during his WW2 service.
