John Henderson Mollison, the gentleman.

John Henderson Mollison was a wonderful grandpa and liked telling stories. One story which will always remain with me was explaining how he couldn't straighten several fingers on one of his hands. It was caused by writing countless letters back home from the war to my sweetheart Ada Beatrice he said. In actual fact it was caused by schrapnel exploding near his hand, but he didn't want to talk about that.

Grandpa was a grocer by trade and managed several CPS stores in Adelaide. As a child we spent many hours playing with a tin full of blocks which were used inside soap wrappers for display in his stores. We had many hours of fun and play with them and they remain in the family today passed down to his great great grandchildren. He did all his own books and banking and in those days he took a small revolver on his way to the bank with the days takings.
Fortunately he never had to use it.

God bless my grandparents, they were very kind and humble and played a huge part in our lives and early formative years. We appreciate them a lot and recognize grand dad's and many others' sacrifice and hardships during WW1.

Lest we forget
