Son of Isaac Flavel and Charlotte Ann Baum ( formerly Charlotte Ann Flavel nee Gordon) formelry of Jamestown SA later of Southark/Thebarton, SA; brother of Amos William Flavel and Eveleen Myrtle Flavel.

1 Jannuary  1918 - dislocated his left Patella which eventually resulted in his being discharged

12 May 1918 - commemced return to Australia on board HT Ruahine disembarking on 5 July 1918

On 24 May 1924 Colin married Elsa Rosina Ruediger at the residence of J. G. Ruediger of Renmark, SA
