Percy's parents were Henry Dicken and Rhoda Norman Chadwick Dobbin. Percy was a labourer from Samsonvale when he enlisted on 8 September 1916 at Brisbane. Percy was wounded in action 2 December 1917 and died at the military hospital in Dover. Percy Dicken was buried in the St James Cemetery, Dover with full military honors'. Percy has a street named after him in Samford.

Died on this date - 2nd December......Private Percy Henry Norman Dicken was born at Buln Buln, near Gippsland, Victoria. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 8th September, 1916 as a 22 year old Labourer from Woolloongabba, Queensland.
Private Percy Henry Norman Dicken was marched in from Australia to Machine Gun Training Depot at Grantham, Lincolnshire, England on 12th April, 1917 where he would received further training before being sent to the Front.
Private Dicken arrived in France on 7th September, 1917. He was wounded in action on 26th October, 1917 with a GSW & fractured left tibia.
Private Dicken was invalided to England & admitted to Dover Military Hospital, Kent, England on 1st November, 1917 with gunshot wounds to left knee – seriously ill. He died at 8.45 am on 2nd December, 1917 from wounds received in action & Septic Pneumonia.
Private Dicken was buried in St. James Churchyard Cemetery, Dover, Kent, England where 7 other WW1 Australians are buried.
