John Allen
John was a 24 when he enlisted on the 27-03-1915, he stated on enlistment that he was a Blacksmith. He served with B Coy, 26th Battalion and was also part of the Machine Gun Section. He later served with the 7th Machine Gun Company then transferred to the 69th Battalion on the 23-03-1917.
He married an English girl by the name off Amy Kathleen Allen whom he brought back to Australia. When he applied for his Gallipoli Medallion on the 14th Oct 1967 he stated:
I was recommended for the Serbian Gold Medal on Gallipoli but as it did not come through until after my discharge it was presented to me at the Dalby Shire Council.
